I Made Merch!

·303 words·2 mins

I attended the 2019 Blender Conference and had a great time. I didn’t have a full-length talk, but I did speak a little during the Lightning Talks session about Right-Click Select and how [not] to make a proper feature request. That talk was a lot of fun. But I got quite a few comments about the shirt I was wearing.

Well, I designed that shirt and made it because I figured the other attendees would appreciate it. There are so many people out there making video tutorials where they’re using “vertice” as the singular form of “vertex” and the word nerd in my head wouldn’t let that rest. Also, I think it’s funny. It turns out that other people think it’s funny and appreciated the shirt enough to ask where I got it and if they could get one. So, well, I went ahead and made the shirt available for sale on Gumroad and on Amazon, if that’s your preference. It comes in black and gray heather colors.

And, hey, while I’m at it, why not also make a It’s Vertex Not Vertice mug? I mean, the art exits, why not put it on a few things? I haven’t quite sorted out how to get that one on Amazon now, so for the time being, it’s only available on Gumroad.

It got me thinking, though. What else could I make? Maybe I should make official Open Source Creative merch. In fact, I’ve already gone ahead and made a merch page on that site for when I eventually make stuff with that logo. Maybe Definitely True deserves a proper logo and some of the shorter lies could live on apparel. The possibilities are really wide open. What do you think I should make?
